I love everything about this painting and I would be first in line if you would be so kind to offer it as a print. (Please?)
It reminds me of Albrecht Durer's dedication to detail with Vermeer's use of light to direct the viewer. I also love how rich the colors are and the contrast between the red strawberries and the blue porcelain. I feel like the porcelain would even be cold to the touch. I could stare at this all day. You even took pains to rough up the table edge! So many details!
This is astonishing. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us here.
Most of my stillife paintings contain objects that once belonged to my parents. Not this one...except for the ants. But that I only realised when the painting was nearly finished...I thought it was missing something, so I added the ants. The crawling ants that I frequently saw, in summertime, on a windowpane in the house they lived.
Wow, you have really done an amazing job with this. You have an incredible grasp on lighting...it's something for me to aspire to, for sure. I am also really impressed with your gold coloring. I have never been able to convey metallics terribly well, gold in particular.
This piece has definitely left me with plenty to think about as far as technique exploration goes. Thanks for the inspiration! I hope you are well, and have a great day.
Suddenly I feel the urge to decorate my room with strawberries. (And I don't even like strawberries. Oddly enough.)
This is exquisite work. The only thing I might change would be to darken the shadows on the strawberries not in the box, but that's more of a nitpicky, personal preference thing. Either way, this is gorgeous.
